Blog 348: On the Road

The other day, I was driving from my cabin to the little French town where I buy groceries.

I noticed one driver who was driving aggressively. This one person tailgated whatever car, truck or tractor was in front of him and then passed as soon as it was safe, and sometimes when it wasn’t.

I noticed they slowed down when they finally made their way to the front of the line when there was nothing but an open road.

They needed to be faster, but not the fastest.

They were comfortable passing cars, being faster than me, but they were unwilling to set their own speed. They chose to stick with us rather than race out ahead.

We do the same thing with our work and businesses.

Most of us need competition to tell us how fast to go.
