Blog 338: Who Is It For?


Most people who have something to sell start with the ‘something to sell’ part and then work backwards to figure out who it’s for.


I meet people every day who come to me because they have this problem, only most often, they don’t know it. They have a whole lot to sell and a lot of value to offer, but they are not clear enough on who actually wants it.


It makes a lot more sense to go in the other direction.


Who do you want to do your work for? What do they do? What do they dream about? What are they afraid of? What do they believe? How do they behave? What sort of story does that person want to hear that will capture their attention, provoke their imagination, and create some curiosity?


Go build that.
