Stephen Covey said something smart that stuck with me, “The key is not to prioritize what is on your schedule, but to schedule your priorities.” I am a fan of simple, powerful insight.
How many times have you used “BUSY” as an excuse? We have to do two things to live a more genuine and joyous life.
First, don’t get involved in things that you will have to make the “BUSY” excuse for. Chances are these activities are not aligned with your personal goals.
Second, realize you can only do so much. Make the hard decision to put yourself and your needs in your schedule, then book other things around that. This will force you to focus on the highest-value activities.
You cannot control time; you can only control the activities you spend your time on.
